DAs, institutes organise SHS 2024 campaign

In line with the cleanliness mission under 'Swachhta Hi Seva', Kamjong deputy commissioner (DC) Rangnamei Rang Peter on Tuesday officially launched the fortnight-long Swachhata Hi Seva (SHS) 2024' mega campaign at Thawai village in Kamjong district.
The launch programme was attended by Phungyar Block SDO Rang David Kung, Kamjong district forest officer (DFO) Nepolean Rongmei, Kamjong PHED executive engineer (EE) Chamdanlung Rongmei and Thawai (T) village chief Wungnaoyung Ngalung along with of students and local villagers.
The launch function was followed by mass tree plantation and 'Swachhata' pledge by around.250 participants.
PHERZAWL: With an aim to bring about lasting impact on the district's cleanliness and hygiene, the district administration, Pherzawl launched SHS 2024 campaign at the conference hall of the DC Office on Tuesday.
Pherzawl ADC/ADM Zosanglur Joute administered Swachhta Pledge to the participants comprising DLOs and other district officials.
As part of the fortnight-long initiative, series of cleanliness activities will be conducted targeting institutions, public health centres and places of worship among others.
Mass cleanliness drives will engage residents to tidy up their surroundings while health check-ups will ensure community well-being.
Additionally, the campaign will feature awareness campaigns aimed at educating the public on the importance of cleanliness and hygiene.
Several schools will also participate by hosting various competitions related to Swachh Bharat Mission.
SENAPATI: Joining the nationwide SHS campaign that promote cleanliness and hygiene, SDOs/BDOs, DLOs and people of Senapati district participated in the SHS 2024 campaign held at Mini Secretariat Complex and town areas under the theme 'Swabhav Swachhta-Sanskar Swachhata' - 'Clean personal Values and Clean cultural practices'.
In compliance with the theme, the district administration will strictly monitor proper waste disposal, segregation of waste at source, placement of dustbins, basic sanitation, and littering.
As part of the campaign, a mass cleanliness drive was carried out at all the offices and institutions premises.
Besides, under ADC, Senapati-Senapati Karong Area Town Committee, Taxi Drivers' Association and shopkeepers also participated in the campaign by cleaning their respective places.
In another programme, Safai Mitra Suraksha Shivers (Safai Mitra health camps) was held at multi-purpose hall, near Mini Secretariat Complex, Senapati by medical department along with other departments like forest, social welfare, ICDS, CAF & PD, agriculture, election and BDO for preventive health check-ups and social security coverage.
Altogether 10 stalls were opened for vaccination, screening of NCD & communicable diseases, creation of ABHA ID, enrolment of CMHT/PMJAY and welfare camps and linkage with various welfare schemes of the state government.
28 first aid kits were also distributed to the beneficiaries.
The programme was also attended by Senapati ADC CEO Adahrii Maheo, ADM Nimmi Azingwungshi Khamrang, SDOs, DLOs and its staffers and various CSOs.
Meanwhile, Institute of Bioresources and Sustainable Development (IBSD), Imphal launched a cleanliness campaign SHS 2024 under the leadership of IBSD, Imphal director professor Pulok K Mukherjee, which will be carried out from Tuesday to October 2 at IBSD, Imphal under the theme 'Behavioural and Ethical Cleanliness'.
In a release, IBSD informed that all the scientists, scholars and staff of IBSD joined in the cleanliness campaign to honour the legacy of the Mahatma Gandhi and make Swachhta a way of life.
Similarly, opening and pledging ceremony of the SHS 2024 campaign, themed 'Swabhav Swachhata-Sanskaar Swachhata', took place on Tuesday at Regional Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) Hospital, General OPD Blocks a release by RIMS PRO said.
The event was inaugurated by RIMS Hospital medical superintendent professor N Sanjib Singh in the presence of SAP 2024-25/Kaya Kalp nodal officer professor Y Govindaraj Singh.
The release further stated that the event was attended by the RIMS sub-dean, College of Nursing and Dental College principals, faculty members, nursing superintendent, officials, staff, students, and representatives from the Centre for Research on Environmental Development (CRED) and Manipur Security Services.
All participants pledged their dedication to promoting cleanliness and responsible waste management, it said.
