Dispersal of polling personnel concludes in Ukhrul

Ukhrul, April 25 2024:
District election officer (DEO)/DC Ukhrul Zuringla Kengoo on Thursday dispersed 87 polling teams for election duty, marking the final dispatch of polling personnel for smooth conduct of the 18th Lok Sabha election in the district.
Thursday's dispersal consisted of 34 teams allocated to Chingai assembly constituency and 53 teams to Ukhrul assembly constituency.
Of the total teams dispatched, 44 were composed of male personnel, 43 included female personnel, and one designated as a Special Polling Station team.
Out of the total of 93,869 voters eligible to exercise their franchise rights on April 26, Ukhrul AC accounts for 46,199 (22549 male, 23650 female) and Chingai AC 47670 (22960 male, 24710 female).
Ukhrul AC has a total of 71 polling stations and four special polling stations for displaced people.
There will be 34 men polling stations and 37 will be reserved for women polling personnel.
This assembly segment will have one model polling station.
On the other hand, Chingai (ST) AC has 70 polling stations in which eight will be manned by women personnel while male personnel will be engaged in the remaining 62 polling stations.
There will be one model polling station in this assembly segment.
Facilities for the PwD identified polling stations have also been well arranged in both the assembly segments.
