Outreach activities mark Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra in different districts

Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra (VBSY) is being held at different districts of the State to raise awareness through outreach activities and achieve saturation of various welfare schemes launched by the Government of India.
Jiribam
The inaugural programme of Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra for Jiribam district was held today at Hilghat community hall.
Zonal Education Officer (ZEO) of Jiribam, Thoudam Amurashi Chanu MES; Jiribam District Headquarters SDC, Amit Sagolsem and Hilghat Gram Panchayat former member Y Sharda graced the inaugural programme as the presidium members.
The major Government Departments of Jiribam including Fisheries, Agriculture, PHED, Forest, MSPDCL, Social Welfare etc raised awareness to the masses about the various welfare schemes under their respective departments and provided benefits to the eligible beneficiaries in line with these welfare schemes.
Speaking as the chief guest, Thoudam Amurashi Chanu briefed about the significance of VBSY and appealed to the gathering to avail the educational benefits provided by the Education Department.
Addressing the gathering, SDC Amit Sagolsem informed that the Yatra is being held under the aegis of District Administration Jiribam.
He further stated that the two-day event will cover six areas under Jiribam Municipal Council and Gram Panchayats.
Pherzawl
The District Administration, Pherzawl organised the final leg of 'Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra' today at Taithu, Lungthulien and Senvon villages.
The outreach campaign was launched yesterday covering Pherzawl, Tinsuong and Damdiei villages.
During the two day yatra, a specially designed IEC vehicle displaying several flagship schemes of the Government traversed along the villages covered.
The District Health Society, Pherzawl organised medical camps cum screening camps for Non-communicable diseases (NCDs) during the Yatra.
The line departments concerned also undertook awareness and enrolment drives at the venues for eligible beneficiaries who are yet to be covered under the various schemes including Ayushman Bharat PMJAY, PMGKAY, PMKISAN, Jal Jeevan Mission, Atal Pension Scheme, PMJJBY among others.
Highlighting the significance of VBSY and various flagship schemes, Zosanglur Joute, ADC Pherzawl urged eligible beneficiaries of the schemes to take full advantage of the outreach campaign.
Interactive sessions with villagers were also held in all the venues wherein representatives from line departments concerned addressed the concerns and queries of the villagers.
Viksit Bharat calendars were also distributed free of cost to all the participants during the campaign.
