Women wing urges all to join 'movement'

The women wing of Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) has appealed to every Manipuri to take part in the proposed movement to remove Army barricade set up at Phougakchao Ikhai in Bishnupur district tomorrow (September 6) .
Speaking to media persons at Lamphelpat today, assistant co-ordinator of COCOMI women wing RK Tharaksana said that the people won't oppose if the Army barricade is set up in the adjoining areas of Bishnupur and Churachandpur.
The barricade, however, is erected in Meitei village and the COCOMI has been urging both the Centre and the Manipur Government to remove it, she added.
Continuing that the COCOMI also apprised the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to remove the barricade at New Delhi recently, RK Tharaksana said that there is no positive response from the Government as of yet.
Earlier, COCOMI served an ultimatum to the Government to remove the barricade by August 31 but the same never took place, she maintained and asked every mother, members of civil society organisations and the people to support the proposed movement so as to remove the barricade.
