Teachers' Day celebrated in State

As observed across the nation, the auspicious occasion of Teachers' Day commemorating the birthday of the second president of India Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was celebrated in numerous ways across the State.
Theatre Mirror, Imphal observed Teachers' Day celebration in honour of its late founder Padmashri Wareppa Naba.
The celebration was conducted at Theatre Mirror Office located at Haobam Marak Thingel Ngangom Leikai, Imphal wherein various artistes and notable personalities from the field of art and culture offered a floral tribute on the portrait of the renowned theatre personality.
The gathering also paid fitting tribute to the Padmashri awardee and recalled his treasure trove of works and lessons in the realm of art and culture.
On the occasion of Teachers' Day, a team of One India Foundation visited the residence of three, teachers and presented them with a book titled "Manipur University - Restoring Normalcy".
The team led by Meitram Sanatomba, national general secretary organisation, met with Nabakumar Singh, former Physics teacher at Johnstone Higher S.econdary School, Chungkham Indira Devi, Chemistry senior lecturer at Johnstone Higher Secondary School and Guruji Bhawani Suvedi of Charhajare of Kangpokpi district and handed over the aforementioned book which is written by former Chief Secretary of Manipur Jamal Singh.
Today's visit was carried out under the theme of "Healthy India, Healthy Manipur".
One India Foundation has extended greetings on Teachers' Day 2023 to all the teachers.
Separately, the Lions Club of Canchipur organised a Teachers' Day celebration at Lions Service Centre, Canchipur at 8 am today and paid a floral tribute to the portrait of Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Two teachers were also honoured during the program, namely, Dr RK Radhakishore Singh, retired Principal of Manipur College and Dr Soibam Giri Singh Principal YK College Wangjing.
