Camp inmates yearn to return to Churachandpur

Meetei people displaced from Churachandpur, who currently taking shelter at Konthoujam Makha Khabam high school relief camp, have drawn attention of the government towards their desire to return/resettle in their birth places in Churachandpur district.
According to a statement issued by inmates of the relief camp, some of the Meetei people displaced from Churachandpur are staying at Konthoujam Makha Khabam high school relief camp for the past four months.
They urged the government to bring back peace by resolving the present crisis so that they could return and resettle in their native places as they could not live forever in the relief camps.
The inmates thanked DC Imphal West, DPC/CEO and BDO Patsoi for providing MGNREGA job cards and Rs 3,380 as wages while staying in the relief camp.
They also expressed their gratitude to Konthoujam GP Pradhan H Manisana for sanctioning the job cards and relief camp in-charge Ph Gopeshwar for tirelessly looking after the inmates for the past four months.
