Govt appeals against plan to remove army barricade

The Manipur Government has appealed to the Coordinating Committee on Manipur Integrity (COCOMI) to withdraw its proposed plan to remove the Army barricade at Phougakchao Ikhai and Torbung areas tomorrow.
Addressing an emergency press briefing at DIPR office today at around 8.30 pm, Government spokesperson and Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan said that there will be no relaxation of curfew in the entire valley districts on September 6 given the tense situation.
Saying that around 700 people from Torbung in Bishnupur have been resettled to their residences, the Minister continued that the Government has been working to resettle and rehabilitate displaced folks from other villages too on war footing.
Dr S Ranjan said that most of the Army barricades at Phougakchao Ikhai and Torbung have already been removed.
