New Delhi, July 30 2010:
Home Minister P Chidambaram today indicated that the anti-talk factions of ULFA and NDFB could be behind today's blast in Assam that killed five CRPF personnel.
Talking to reporters, Chidambaram said while a large number of groups (in the northeast) have come for peace talks with the Government, two factions of NDFB and ULFA have not evinced any interest in parleys.
"Not all rebel groups have come for the talks.
As you are aware that one faction of NDFB and one faction of the ULFA are opposed to the talks," he said reacting to the blast in Goalpara district in which 44 people were also injured.
Chidambaram, however, said "at this point it is not clear who is behind the blast" that took place when the CRPF personnel were returning from training at an army camp.
He described the incident as "very sad and very unfortunate".
