Manipur Legislative Assembly speaker Thokchom Satyabrata has said that the National People's Party (NPP) legislators will be allowed to sit in the opposition bench in the upcoming session of the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly scheduled to begin from February 10 along with hinting at possible change in the council of ministers.
Talking to media persons on the sidelines of inauguration of Khuman Multipurpose hall at Mayang Imphal on Sunday, the speaker explained that the arrangement is being made following the communication sent by NPP national president Conrad K Sangma after withdrawing support to the BJP-led government.
Responding to media posers regarding his recent meeting with union home minister Amit Shah at the national capital, Satyabrata said the home minister simply asked him to hold the assembly session peacefully and gave some advice.
Stating that he has not disclosed details of meeting Amit Shah to anybody but came across some speculative media reports, Satyabrata, while confiding that the home minister is fully aware of the internal conflict within the party, maintained that he cannot disclose everything discussed during the meeting.
Earlier, while speaking at the inauguration function as chief guest, Satyabrata praised Mayang Imphal MLA Kongkham Robindro as a young, energetic and dedicated public representative, while adding that he may soon become a minister.

MLA K Robindro, in his presidential speech, called for unity among the people keeping aside political differences.
He highlighted some development activities taken up during his stint of eight years as elected representative, and added that the public may not be fully satisfied but he will continue addressing the public aspirations.
