Security forces have arrested eight UG cadres from different locations.
In the first incident, Thoubal district police commandos nabbed three PULF cadres while conducting a frisking drive at Thoubal Wangmataba parking yesterday.
The trio has been identified as Md Amir Khan alias Sameer Rahman alias Phajaba (21) s/o Md Mani of Lilong Loutara village, Md Nahapikpa alias Sahid Ahamad (19) s/o Md Safitula of Phundrei Mayai Leikai and Md Yaima (23) s/o late Md Abdul Ahamad of Phundrei.
The police team seized a demand note of PULF addressed to President and Secretary of Thoubal Magic Van Association from the possession of Md Amir Ahamad, said a press release of Thoubal Senior SP.
In another incident, a combined team of Thoubal district police commandos and troops of 21 Assam Rifles arrested an active member of PREPAK at Umathel village, under Waikhong police station today.
The cadre has been identified as Mayanglambam Amujao Singh alias Khellendro alias Suren (30) s/o Radhamohon of Kakching Turel Wangma Ningthou Pareng Leikai.
One revolver and five rounds of ammunition were recovered from his possession, added the press release.
In yet another incident, troops of 21 Assam Rifles and 12 Maratha LI have respectively apprehended one cadre each of the KYKL and PULF organisations from different places last evening.
A PRO IGAR (S) release identified the KYKL cadre, arrested from Wangoo of thoubal district at around 2.30 pm, as Ratankumar Meitei alias RK (38) s/o Iboton Singh of Wangoo Nungaikhong.
The PULF (Zakir) cadre namely Juma Khan (23) s/o Md Nasib Ali of Moijing was reportedly hauled up from Iram Siphai of Imphal West district where the MLI troops launched operation yesterday.
Both the captives have been handed over to police stationed concerned, the PRO informed.
Assam Rifles troops also arrested a PLA and one PREPAK cadre from Chandel district areas on April 28 with the PRO naming the first, captured by a combined team of 8 and 37 AR from Chakpikarong of Chandel district, as Laishram Romen Singh (18) s/o Iboyaima Singh of Kumbi Terakha.
Romen has been handed over to Lamphel police station today.
The PREPAK cadre was picked out at the check post near Chamol village on April 28 at around 5.20 pm from among passengers of a Tata Sumo plying between Moreh to Imphal.
Interrogation by the troops is said to have resulted in the individual's disclosure his identity as Pvt (No.38874) Meibam Nauba alias Dhiren Singh (19) s/o M Samme of Moreh WN-VII.
