CM urges doctors for regular physical assessment of Covid patients

hief Minister N Biren has appealed to doctors to physically attend to Covid patients who are undergoing treatment in hospitals and Covid care centres at regular interval.
The CM chaired a joint meeting of health department ofcials, ministers and MLAs at the CM's secretariat on Tursday and discussed the prevailing Covid-19 pandemic situation.
Taking advantage of the meeting, the CM urged all the healthcare professionals to regularly attend to the patients and assess their health conditions.
Whether they are in hospitals or Covid Care Centres, the patients should never be left alone, Biren said.
He also asked the department ofcials to assess staf strength in hospitals and CCCs, and to distribute them evenly in all the facilities as per requirement instead of accumulating staf in a handful of facilities.
MBBS fnal year students have been given requisite training for Covid duties, he said and asked the ofcials to utilise them at appropriate sites.
The CM also stressed the need for cooperation from all sections keeping in view of the deteriorating situation of Covid-19 pandemic and increasing number of cases as well as fatalities.
Everybody must remain prepared, he said, adding that hospitals will need to increase number of ICU and isolation beds.
He also emphasised on the need for arranging at least 5000 beds in Covid Care Centres, as well as for increasing other basic equipment like ventilators, oxygen concentrators and oxygen stocks.
Every possible step should be taken up in order to ensure that there is no room for any complaint, he made it clear to the attending doctors and ofcials.
