Lamp lighting and oath taking ceremonies held

The "14th Lamp Lighting Ceremony" of Kangleipak Medical & Nursing Institute under Khongnangthaba University, was held on Friday at the institute's campus in Khurai Konsam Leikai, Paonam Leirak.
It was graced by Prof N Joykumar Singh, Vice-Chancellor, Khongnangthaba University; Kh Ratna Devi, Director of Nursing, Khongnangthaba University; Dr K Gunabanta Singh, Medical Superintendent, Biren Hospital, Chingarel and Th Joyshree Devi, Principal of Kangleipak Medical & Nursing Institute as presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Prof N Joykumar inspired the participants while reminding them that shortly, the university would inaugurate a dedicated hospital, a strategic move to enrich the avenues for practical learning environments of nursing students, hence strengthening their avenues as well as placing them at the forefront of healthcare services.
"There are so many opportunities in nursing, and your future is very promising.
Khongnangthaba University is playing a major role by providing ample job opportunities.
This new hospital will serve our community but also be a pivotal healthcare training ground for our students", he added.
Kh Ratna Devi spoke with much enthusiasm about the growth and recognition of the nursing programme under her direction.
Dr K Gunabanta Singh said that maintaining high standards of healthcare services is a matter of great importance.
As a part of the programme, 38 B.Sc Nursing students of the institute held a lamp lighting ceremony in the honour of Florence Nightingale, the founder of Modem Nursing and took the nursing oath.
The ceremony marked the beginning of the future doctors and nurses' commitment to their noble profession.
ITD College
The "Lamp Lighting and Oath Taking Ceremony" of 5th batch of B.Sc Nursing students of the Irengbam Thamcha Devi Nursing & Health Care Research Institute, Uripok Khoisnam Leikai was held at the institute's auditorium today.
The dignitaries present at the ceremony included Irengbam Ibotombi Singh, president & founder of ITD Nursing & Health Care Research Institute; Irengbam Nalini Devi, Principal, ITD College of Nursing and Mayanglambam Shanti Devi, Vice Principal, ITD College of Nursing.
At the event, Irengbam Ibotombi highlighted the key role of nurses in developing the healthcare sector and urged all the students who are stepping into the nursing profession to serve the patients with compassion & extreme care without any discrimination based on colour, caste or creed.
Lighting of lamps, taking the nursing oath by the students and offering of floral tributes to a photograph of Florence Nightingale were the main highlights of the event.
