Protesters blocked roads by burning tyres and placing wooden logs, disrupting vehicular movement.
Sit-in demonstrations were also held at Moirang Lamkhai, Thamnapokpi Keipha Keithel and Kangshoibi Mapal, where locals strongly condemned the attack that claimed the lives of two children and left their mother seriously injured.
Speaking during one of the protests, MAMPIL president K Padmabati criticised the government's handling of the situation, stating that claims regarding the arrest of individuals involved in the attack were insufficient to address public anger.
She asserted that such actions would not satisfy the people and warned that agitation would continue.
She further expressed a lack of public confidence in central forces deployed in the region, stating that peace would remain elusive without a government that truly represents and safeguards the interests of the people.
She also demanded that those responsible for the attack be brought to justice and awarded stringent punishment.
In Thoubal district, the Athokpam Meira Paibi Apunba Lup (AMPAL), Thoubal Athokpam, staged a sit-in protest at Athokpam Keithel.
Protesters held placards reading "Stop Killing Innocent People", "We Want Justice", "We Want NRC", and "Stop Killing Innocent Children", voicing strong resentment and demanding accountability.
Speaking on the sidelines, AMPAL president Kh Kripa questioned the government's intent, alleging disparity in the treatment of different areas.
She claimed that regions inhabited by certain communities enjoyed relative freedom, while areas dominated by the Meitei community faced restrictions and frequent arrests.
Criticising the authorities for what she described as inaction, she questioned how the government could remain a silent spectator amid such incidents and urged it to take concrete steps to ensure peace and security.
She further stated that if the government fails to act in the interest of the people, it should step down.
Meanwhile, the Thoubal Apunba Lup (TAL) and Kairembikhok Students' Union and Club organised a candlelight vigil on Thursday evening, praying for the victims of the Tronglaobi bomb attack and theCRPF firing incident that claimed three civilians.
During the vigil, participants observed a two-minute silence and prayed for the departed souls.
They also raised slogans demanding the arrest of those responsible for the killing of the children, the removal of Kuki militant elements, and an end to the ongoing violence in the State.
