'Youth Connect 2019' concludes at KBC Center Church, new Lambulane

Imphal, October 08 2019: Spiritual and sports event 'Youth Connect 2019' jointly organised by the Youth Department of Kuki Baptist Convention (KBC) in association with Kuki Baptist Association (KBA), Nagaland from October 3 to 8 on the theme "Igniting our faith" at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex, Imphal concluded today in the presence of Juliana Doungel, Hatneilam Haokip and Hatkhochin Haokip as chief guest, guest of honour and functional president respectively.

About 1500 youths of Kuki Baptist Churches from the north east states of Nagaland, Assam and 21 KBC parishes from Manipur participated in the Youth Connect 2019 .

The week long programme was a mixed event of sports and spiritual gatherings.

Seigoulal Haokip, choir member of the KBC Parish No 1 said "It would have been more comfortable and entertaining had the authority permitted us to organise all the events at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex but now we will have to travel to KBC Center Church, New Lambulane for the evening spiritual gatherings which is a bit inconvenient for the participants".

"Nevertheless I thank the Govt of Manipur for permitting us to use the facilities at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex and youths from Assam and Nagaland are thrilled to be at Khuman Lampak Sports Complex", he added.

In sports events, KBC Parish No 19, Parish No 16 and Parish No 1 secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively in men's football.

In women's Volleyball, Parish No 4, Parish No 1 and Parish No 17 were three top teams while in Tug of War for men, Parish No 1, Parish No 2 and Parish No 12/21 stood at 1st, 2nd and 3rd respectively.

In women's Tug of War event, Parish No 1, Parish No 9 and Parish No 17 secured 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In men's shot put competition, Mangcha of Parish No 1, Peter Seiminthang of Parish No 8 and Ngamjapao of Parish No 7 stood 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

In women shot put event, Lamneihat of Parish No 4, Mercy of Parish No 9 and Hoijalam of Parish No 2 registered 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively.

Kamgunmang of Parish No 3, Robert of Parish No 8 and Paolun of Parish No 19 clinched the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position respectively in men's race event while in women race competition, Lamcy of Parish No 8, Zouzam of Parish No 4 and Vahhoichong of Parish No 19 were the 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder respectively.

In Choir song competition, KBC Parish No 1, Parish No 19 and Parish No 9 were the top three winners respectively while in choreography competition, KBC Parish No 16, KBA Nagaland and KBC Parish No 9 were 1st, 2nd and 3rd position holder respectively.

The best discipline team in Football was awarded to KBC Parish No 6, best discipline team in Volleyball was awarded to KBA Nagaland and best Choir conductor was awarded to KBA Nagaland Choir conductor.
