Three arrested with WY tablets, brown sugar

Imphal, October 06 2026:
Security forces arrested three individuals with 5.4 kilograms of WY tablets and 373 grams of brown sugar in two different operations in Tengnoupal and Churachandpur district in the last 24 hours.
While the 5.4 kilograms of WY tablets were seized from an individual in Tengnoupal district yesterday, the 373 grams of brown sugar was seized from two individuals in Churachandpur district today.
Manipur Police, on Facebook, said Chura-chandpur district police arrested two drug peddlers along with 30 soap cases containing 373 grams of brown sugar this afternoon from Koite village along the Tiddim road, Churachandpur district.
The arrested individuals have been identified as Lettinthang Vaiphei (21), son of Jamkhohao Vaiphei of Aishi Village, Kamjong district and Lungoulen Haokip (33), son of Onkhothang Haokip of Tuikong Village, Chandel District.
Lettinthang Vaiphei was at present staying at TS Hengmol village, and Lun-goulen Haokip was staying at S Phaipijang village, near Kaprang village, Churachandpur district.
They were carrying the brown sugar in a four wheeler vehicle bearing Delhi registration number.
The arrested persons along with the seized items have been handed over to the Churachandpur police station for necessary legal action and further investigation.
On the other hand, the WY tablets weighing 5.4 Kg were seized after intercepting an Activa rider during a routine check at Tengnoupal PS checkpost, said the police.
The arrested rider has been identified as Helminlal Haokip (31), son of Jaimkhollet Haokip, a resident of Moreh, Tengnoupal district.
