Imphal, October 06 2026:
The Federation of Haomee (FoH) organised the 1st Manipur Indigenous Day at Sawombung Kabui Khunjao today.
The programme, which began with the hoisting of a flag at the Indigenous Pillar at Sawombung Kabui Khunjao, was attended by Kabui Union Manipur president Heera Kabui, Mao Union Valley president Puni Loshii Mao, Chandel Naga People's Organisation (CNPO) president Francis Thamok, Rongmei Naga Council Manipur Valley (RNCMV) president Gaibi Riamei and several other community leaders, who shared the dais.
Addressing the function, FoH president Sapamcha Jadumani claimed that the Government has been looking down on the people of Manipur, as the State politicians fail to stand up for the interests of the people.
Claiming that the Government of India has been turning a blind eye to alleged atrocities committed by illegal immigrants against indigenous people, he added that the State Ministers and MLAs need to demonstrate leadership instead of allowing their Central leaders to dictate their actions on every issue.
He, meanwhile, said the Manipur Indigenous Day would be organised every year from this day onwards to promote unity among the indigenous people.
