Imphal, October 06 2026:
Expressing concern over the shortage of facilities and manpower at the Sub-Divisional Hospital, Moreh, Tamil Sangam Moreh and Manipuri Muslim Council have urged the Govt to take immediate steps to address the problems faced by the hospital.
The hospital currently lacks adequate doctors and other essential facilities, according to Tamil Sangam Moreh vice-president Kamalnath Naidu and Manipuri Muslim Council president Md Rajaudine.
Although an order had been issued for the posting of six doctors at the hospital, only three had joined so far, they said, questioning whether the remaining three doctors yet to report to the hospital could ignore even the Government order.

They said they had earlier approached the Gover- nor and Chief Minister, seeking intervention to address the shortcomings at the hospital.
They also raised concerns over the functioning of the hospital, alleging that the DDO posted at the hospital is always absent.
They further alleged that the laboratory room of the hospital has been affected by water seepage, while there is no proper backup power arrangement to ensure uninterrupted electricity supply during power outages.
They also claimed that the ambulance of the hospital is not functioning properly.
They urged the Government to appoint another person as DDO if the incumbent is unable to ensure the proper functioning of the hospital.
They further said that substitute workers have been engaged in place of Maring, Naga and Meitei staff who cannot stay in Moreh due to the prevailing law and order situation, but the substitute workers have started protesting over non-payment of their salaries.
They appealed to the Government and Tengnoupal district administration to intervene in the matter and take necessary steps to address the problems at the hospital.
