Imphal, January 03 2024: A Head Constable of the Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly shot himself with his service gun and died at a temporary outpost at Serou Mamang Leikai, Kakching district.

The incident happened at around 11.40 pm yesterday.

The Head Constable, Radheshyam Gujar (41) was on duty at the temporary outpost of the BSF's 163 BN (A Coy) when he allegedly shot himself.

Radheshyam Gujar was a native of Nagari (Gurjar Khera), Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan.

He was first rushed to Sugnu CHC where first aid was given and then taken to Jeevan Hospital, Kakching at around 2.15 am today.

At around 2.54 am, the head Constable was declared dead by the hospital.

Sugnu police have deposited the body at JNIMS mortuary.
