Imphal, May 06 2026:
A video that has a woman complaining about "unprofessional and unethical conduct" of staff of a hospital has gone viral on Facebook.
"Worst staff...No humility, No Compassion,...
They need lessons they would never forget," these are some of the comments the video has attracted.
The video, purportedly taken in front of the AB-PMJAY Registration Counter at RIMS and uploaded on Facebook by a lady, has been shared by over 6,000 people, and attracted over 15,000 likes and 2000 comments.
In the video, the woman is heard complaining that she has been denied cancer medicines even after waiting in a long queue for hours.
The woman said she was there to get medicine at a discounted price under the CMHT/PMJAY scheme of the Government.

"We aren't rich.
We don't belong to rich families.
We have been waiting here in long queues because we are poor and we have no money to buy medicine," the woman said, claiming she was asked to come "tomorrow" after waiting hours.
The woman said the AB-PMJAY counter opens at 9 am, and she had been waiting to get the medicines since 7 am.
The woman is heard saying one of her family members, suffering from cancer, was admitted to a ward on the upper floor.
The woman said she had to go to the ward upstairs because she was called on an emergency.
But, when she returned, she was refused the medicines.
"Cancer medicines are costly...and I had all the documents prescribed and signed by the doctor to get the medicine," she is heard saying in the video.
The woman said the staff were allowing/admitting only 30 persons a day.
"It's only 10 am and they are refusing to entertain the many people who are here since early morning," the woman is heard saying.
The staff is claiming I am "alone" and "can handle/admit only 30 persons," said the woman.
"But, if they aren't going to admit more people then why did they make us wait for hours?" Some people waiting on the bench could be seen nodding in agreement.
The woman then went on to say that she had been at the hospital for about a month and she "knows how the staff behave".
"How they [staff] treat people depends on their mood of the day," she said.
Sometimes, the staff are nice with the patient parties.
When they are feeling happy they treat the people well, but when there is a long queue and they are tense, they behave badly with the people, said the woman.
"They behave badly, use abusive and harsh tones and without humility, especially to those who are elderly and not literate," the woman said.
"They lash out at people, scare and intimidate them.
It is unfortunate and sad," she said.
At one time, when she was making an inquiry, she was asked by one of the staff "if something is wrong with her head?" said the woman.
Elderly people and those who aren't outspoken will never be able to seek help from them, she added.
When the staff are denying admission to those waiting in long queues, they are prioritising their people, persons they know personally, relatives and near and dear ones, said the woman.
"No token is necessary when they give medicine to their people.
We all can see clearly," the woman said.
No elderly and soft-spoken person could ever approach them and ask for assistance.
Only outspoken and young people can approach them and deal with them, said the woman, criticising the conduct of the staff.
"Such uncalled and unprofessional conduct of the staff including security personnel have made headlines of news on televisions and newspapers, but they haven't changed a bit," she said.
Just when she was commenting about the "unprofessional" conduct of the staff and security personnel, a person in uniform is seen approaching her and asking her not to record video inside the premises of the hospital.
When she refuses, the security person in the video is seen asking her "what do you think you are doing?" The video then ended abruptly.
Almost all of the people who commented on the video seem to agree with the woman.
Many of the netizens recommended that she must file a complaint with the Medical Superintendent for strict action against the staff concerned.
One person wrote, "The staff have no understanding that they are being paid to do public service" .
Another wrote, "The staff need lessons in hospitality".
One simply wrote, "They think no one is above them" .
Another person wrote, "Cha thaknaba khra twra d yabani" meaning "if they are given money they will do the job " .
"It is the system in Manipur, no signature will be signed unless you pay Rs 100/200," wrote a person.
Some netizens tagged Chief Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh urging him to take action.
