Lamka, April 28:
IFC Minister N Biren since Saturday last re-camps at Khuga Dam, to ensure a rapid stride of progress in installing the most crucial and critical components needed to make the project operational.
With two heavy cranes now standing by to haul up the larger than life hoist bridge, engineers have been restively working from dawn till late at night to ensure that the first of the four bridges is installed tomorrow.
Installing the bridge that will hoist the gate is said to be one of the most critical task, requiring a highly skilled engineering expertise, as these extra heavy components will have to be in sync.
The minister and his men's attempt tomorrow will have a huge bearing on the challenge the state government has taken up to make the dam operational by next month.
Biren is here personally to meet that challenge head on, ensure that Prime Minister Manmohan Singh could be rope in for the inauguration, and that he is impressed with it.
