KSO Sadar Hills streamlines JNV entry as per guidelines

Kangpokpi, July 17 2019: Based on the guidelines of the Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya, the Kuki Students Organization Sadar Hills has streamlined the process of entry into JNV Kangpokpi, with an aim to ensure that only genuinely eligible students avail the facilities.

It has been reported, since the past few years, that many ineligible students, violating the guidelines of the JNV, were admitted into JNV Kangpokpi while many other eligible students could not make the admission cut.

Considering various complaints from the public, KSO Sadar Hills initiated prompt action to streamline the entry process as per the given guidelines.

The organisation conducted thorough survey and found four students in the current academic session getting admission with fake certificates.

Speaking to media persons, Thangminlen Kipgen, president KSO Sadar Hills said that the organisation have found the four students getting into JNV with fake certificate.

"We summoned the particular school authority who issued the fake certificates after obtaining complete evidence with video record", he added.

He continued that the Zonal Education Officer has been notified and a joint meeting with concerned school authority was held at the office chamber of ZEO Kangpokpi wherein the schools authority concerned owned up their fault and made an undertaking to the ZEO, in the presence of KSO, he claimed.

The matter was resolved after giving a serious warning while ZEO Kangpokpi write up to the Principal, JNV Kangpokpi along with the names of the four pupils who got admitted with fake certificates.

KSO Sadar Hills president said that, as per the eligibility criteria and guidelines of the JNV, students who seek admission for class VI at JNV Kangpokpi should finish class V from a recognized school within the district but the four students who have not studied class V in Kangpokpi district made the entry through fake certificates.

The schools which issued the fake certificates to the four pupils have been identified as Manger English School, Kangchup Chingkhong, LN Memorial Academy, Kangpokpi, Khongbal Tangkhul Govt Jr High School and Shishumilan Primary School, Purum Khullen.

The organisation has cautioned all schools within Kangpokpi district to be careful while issuing certificates and also to all the concerned DI of Schools to be more careful while accepting the certificates.

Meanwhile, the student body also expressed disappointment over the intake of only half of the total capacity (80 seats) as a result of the school locating in a temporary site which in turn is losing 40 seats every year.

It urged the department concerned to complete the construction work of the schools building at the permanent site and shift the school at the earliest.
