State logs no Covid case after 13 months

Imphal, April 22 2022:
After a gap of over 13 months, the state on Friday reported no new Covid-19 cases out of 227 samples tested in the last 24 hours.
The last time the state reported zero new case was at the end of the first wave on March 15 .
The second wave of the pandemic gradually gained momentum from March 16 and saw sudden rise in daily new cases in the second and third weeks of April.
No death cases were reported in the last 24 hours and the toll remains at 2120 .
In the last 24 hours, three patients were discharged from home isolation.
Number of active cases came down to 26 out of which 11 (42.31 per cent) are in home isolation.
There are 299 vacant beds available in JNIMS and 190 in RIMS.
So far, the state has recorded 11,417 positive cases and 118 fatalities since the beginning of the third wave.
The current month has reported 111 new positive cases and no fatality.
The cumulative number of positive cases stands at 1,37,205 (general population -1,32,191 and CAPF personnel - 5,014) Number of recovered cases is 1,35,059 (general population - 130,052 and CAPF personnel - 5,007) and number of active cases is 26 (general population).
The recovery rate is 98.44 per cent.
A total of 159 D-type and 11 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities in the last 24 hours while 2711 vaccine doses were administered on Thursday which took the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals to 15,52,617 including 11,96,602 who have taken the second dose and 74,567 recipients of precautionary doses.
Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 44,217 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 30,655 CPM.
Test rate has improved to 5,18,193 tests per million population against the national average of 5,93,715 TPM.
Case fatality rate stands at 1.55 per cent and cumulative positivity at 8.53 per cent.
