Imphal, October 20 2012:
While welcoming the Union Government's efforts for solving the decades old problem of NSCN-IM, All Manipur United Clubs' Organisation (AMUCO) had asked Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde to clarify on the matter of separate budget for Hill area.
In a statement, AMUCO asked which schedule of Indian constitution has got provision for granting separate budget for a specific area of the state by skipping the administration of the state.
Furthermore, AMUCO asked how the Kukis who are more in population would be dealt with in the new arrangement.
Recalling the several public uprisings for the protection of territorial integrity of Manipur, AMUCO alleged that the Union government has been trying to disturb the integrity of the state using various strategies.
If the Union government is serious for developing underdeveloped parts of the state, they could have considered more autonomy to Tamenglong district or to Chandel district.
The hidden political agenda of accumulating all the Naga people in the state under one administrative unit is easily noticeable if not reveal.
This is despite the fact that Nagas of Manipur have no similarity with the Nagas of Nagaland and this fact has been accepted by Maos, Semas and Angamis.
In reality the self proclaimed Nagas like the Tangkhuls and Kabuis are the brothers of Meitei.
This has also been noted and mentioned in many of books written by Naga Scholars, the AMUCO statement observed.
It also warned Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Schinde from converting O Ibobi Singh to another Bodhachandra.
