Chief Minister O Ibobi Singh, who left Imphal for Delhi yesterday, with the State Cabinet's decision in hand, is most likely to have a meeting with Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde on Monday.
According to reports reaching Hueiyen Lanpao, since tomorrow being Sunday, Chief Minister O Ibobi has not been able to get any appointment to meet the Union Home Minister.
However, he is most likely to get an appointment to meet him Monday next, i.e.on October 22 .
During his last visit to Delhi, Ibobi was informed by the Union Home Minister verbally to help in smoothening the pace of peace talk between the Centre and the NSCN-IM to which the former reportedly told the latter that since he could not take the decision on his own a Cabinet meeting has to be convened to discuss the matter.
Accordingly, a Cabinet meeting was convened yesterday and Ibobi later left for Delhi to meet the Union Minister along with the decision of the State Cabinet.
During the cabinet meeting yesterday it was resolved that the State Government could not agree on any issue which threatens the territorial integrity of the state.
The written decision of the Cabinet meeting would be handed over to the Union Home Minister by the Chief Minister during their meeting, the reports said.
Apart from handing over the written decision of the state Cabinet, the Chief Minister would also demand a written statement on the strategies taken up by the Union Government for solving the Naga issue as well as on the demands made by NSCN-IM, the reports added.
Meanwhile, Eastern Nagaland People's Organisation (ENPO) has stuck to its earlier demand of forming a Frontier Nagaland by disintegrating the state of Nagaland.
The organization has also stood firm over not acquiring any economic packages from the Union Government and has stated that it would be meaningless to form a State Level Steering committee and provide special packages for their people.
In a communiqu� issued by its president P Pongom Khiam, vice president Sashi Naga and general secretary NT Thamlong, ENPO stated that during its Steering Committee meeting on June 15 last at Longleng, it had outrightly rejected the package and even rejected the State Cabinet Sub-Committee.
This has already been conveyed to the Prime Minister's Office and Ministry of Home Affairs, it said.
Further, it mentioned that the public resolution on June 12 at Tuensang, which was duly signed by all the six tribal presidents on behalf of the ENPO, had rejected the offers of the State Government.
Based on the public resolution, it had been conveyed to the Chief Minister on June 22 that nothing less than full-fledged Statehood as demanded would be accepted by the ENPO, it said.
The government had yesterday notified the constitution of a State Level Steering Committee on the Special Development Package for Eastern Nagaland under the chairmanship of the State Chief Secretary.
The Nagaland Government had informed that the Committee will review the progress of the Programme/Projects implemented by the line departments, and also take corrective measures, ensuring quality control and completion of the projects within the time frame under Special Development Package for Eastern Nagaland which was given as a component of SPA under the State Annual Plan, 2012-13, and which is likely to be continued during the 12th Plan period.
