In this connection, Kh Athouba issued a video statement expressing profound discontentment with the newly formed Government of India and the alleged dismissive attitude of the President during her keynote address at the beginning of the first session of the Parliament.
Kh Athouba pointed out the alleged failure of the President to acknowledge the grim human rights situation in Manipur while terming it not only irresponsible but also a violation of the fundamental human rights of the people.
Stating that the people of Manipur can no longer rely solely on the Indian State, he suggested seeking third-party interventions to ensure rationality and accountability in addressing this crisis as per available National and international standard laws and conventions.
Thus, he appealed to the international community, especially those dedicated to the welfare and security of indigenous peoples, to extend their support.
"We need assistance to combat the narco-terrorist activities and the emergence of a new Golden Triangle in North East India, which the Indian Government has long been complicit in.
We call for decisive action to address the impact of uncontrolled cross-border immigration over the past 70 years, an issue the Government has consistently failed to manage sincerely.
The people of Manipur have reached their limit.
We can no longer tolerate the current dispensation's discreet policies that wage war against its own citizens through the engagement of mercenary forces from across the border," he asserted.
IPSA, along with the allied CSOs, have also urged the international community to act immediately.
