Marian procession held

The first Marian Procession organised by the Assumption Parish, Awangkhul, Noney district was held today at Noney Bazar under the theme "Honouring Mother Mary and praying for peace and co-existence in Manipur" .
Archbishop Dominic Lumon was the Chief Celebrant of the occasion.
The procession started from St Joseph's School ground Khumji-2, passed through Longmai Bazar Traffic point and culminated at the starting point.
The procession was participated by Parishes, Priests, Sisters and representatives of Catholic Churches of Longmai Area, Nungba, Khoupum, Nungnang, Tamenglong, Bishnupur and Pongringlong in Kangpokpi district.
Speaking at the occasion, Archbishop Dominic Lumon highlighted the significance of carrying out Marian procession.
In connection with the prevailing unrest in Manipur after the outbreak of unprecedented scale of communal conflict, the Archbishop expressed that the conflict has affected the State tremendously.
He maintained that the situation can be healed through collective efforts and by God's blessings and appealed to all to dedicate their prayers for restoration of peace and normalcy in strife torn Manipur.
