For the first time in Manipur, mobile based citizen centric service for the pensioners has been officially launched today.
Chief Secretary DS Poonia launched the service at a function jointly organised by Department of Information Technology, NIC and Treasury at his office chamber here this afternoon.
Towards, implementation of this mobile-based governance, usually termed as m-governance, the Department of Technology, Govt of Manipur has reserved the SMS Short '56677' for all mobile based delivery of Govt to Citizen (G2C) services in Manipur.

With the help of this service, pensioners can now check if their monthly pay advice has been sent to the bank by simply sending an SMS 'mn
The service is available at a cost of Rs 3 per SMS.
However, if a pensioner registers his/her mobile number with the Treasury Department, information regarding the dispatch of pay advice to the bank will be sent via SMS to the pensioner free of cost.
to avail this free service, pensioners can submit their mobile numbers during updating of photos.
It is also said that more similar services in different sectors such as health, education, utility billing, alters, localised date collection, etc are being planned and would be launched in co-ordination with the concerned departments and agencies in the near future.
