Imphal, July 26 2013 :
Kuki Students' Organisation (KSO) Chandel District has strongly condemned the action of the 24 AR in connection with the false accusation against two students David Lhungdim (Moreh College) and Manasheh Vaiphei (JNV Chandel) .
In a press release, KSO Chandel said that the two students were on a passenger vehicle (Tata Sumo) plying from Moreh to Imphal on July 19.During a routine check up at Khudengthabi, all the passengers including the students were apprehended when the 24 AR personnel found few arms and ammunitions from the said vehicle.
The two students produced their student's identity cards to confirm that they both were college students.
The other passengers and the driver pleaded with the personnel to free the two students however they chose to ignore the pleas and the two students were forcefully made to sign a statement that said they were both militant outfits, alleged in the release.
It demanded that the AR personnel should produce the documents that both David and Manasheh are from a militant outfit.
They should release any documents found on the students or the source of information they used to frame the innocent students.
It is unfortunate that those who claim to be 'friends of the hills' and are deployed to safeguard the Nation, the State and the people, have no concern whatsoever for the innocent civilians especially the students who are the future of our society, KSO observed in the press release and questioned whether they have any conscience over their action and the damage it could bring to the reputation and their future careers.
The KSO Moreh Block executive members have met Major Hemanshu Saoly regarding the matter however the pleas fell on deaf ears.
It is sad to know that such a highly respected Major would work against the rights of the people and work only for his personal benefits, which is a total abuse of their power and authority, it stated and added that KSO Chandel strongly condemned this shameful act and requested all security forces to refrain from apprehending innocent civilians especially students beraing their identity cards.
