CRPF installs busts of martyrs

In keeping with the Government of India Policy guideline of instilling patriotism among students, the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) has been installing busts of brave personnel who sacrificed their life in line of duty for the Nation.
As a part of the above initiatives, two busts of CRPF personnel who sacrificed their life while fighting against anti-nationals namely Shaheed S Sanjit Singh and Shaheed Punshi Singh have been installed, said a press note by 143 Bn CRPF.
The bust of Shaheed S Sanjit Singh was installed at Eureka High School in Thoubal district where he completed his higher secondary education with the aim to keep his memories alive.
The bust was installed by K Nandakishore Singh, 2IC of 143 Bn CRPF in the presence of the school principal, important dignitaries of the Civil Department, relatives of Martyr S Sanjit Singh and residents of nearby villages.
Meanwhile, K Sonny Singh, 2IC of 143 Bn CRPF installed the bust of Shaheed Punshi Singh at Sardar Patel High School, Khurkhul in Imphal West district where he completed his school education.
It may be noted that Shaheed S Sanjit Singh was a resident of village Sapam Mayai Leikai.

He was deputed for an operation in Bishnupur district while he was posted in 44 Bn CRPF.
The troop of CRPF while approaching the site was ambushed by hiding militants and in the ensuing encounter, he along with two other constables sustained serious bullet injuries and later he succumbed to the injuries.
While Shaheed Punshi Singh succumbed to the injuries sustained during an ambush by militants while the troop was returning from duty on December 27, 1997.He was a resident of Khurkhul village in Sekmai AC, Imphal West district and was posted at 50 Bn CRPF, added the press note.
