Daily cases dip, positivity rate rises, 16 succumb

Imphal, July 19 2021: The state on Monday recorded 16 death cases and 774 new positive cases of Covid-19 out of 4339 samples tested, registering a positivity rate of 17.84 per cent.

Sunday reported 11 death cases and 963 new cases with a positivity rate of 15.60 per cent.

The average positivity rate during the current month has reached 15.09 per cent against 10.34 per cent in June.

So far, the state has recorded 56,196 positive cases and 1018 fatalities during the second wave of Covid-19.The current month saw an addition of 15,806 new cases and 242 fatalities out of which 6975 new cases and 105 fatalities were reported only in the last seven days.

The active caseload has reached 9693 out of which 3932 (40.57 per cent) are under home isolation, 3211 (33.13 per cent) in CHICs, 1600 (16.51 per cent) in CCCs and 950 (9.80 per cent) are admitted to hospitals.

Among the patients admitted to different hospitals, 123 are in ICU/ HDU wards, 187 on oxygen support and 62 on ventilator support.

A total of 122 patients are also on oxygen support in different CCCs.

As of Sunday night, number of patients admitted to different treatment facilities in the state against available bed strengths are RIMS (230/224), JNIMS (245/286), I Land Hospital (38/60), District Covid Facilities (169/347), MSF (24/30), Private Covid Hospitals (244/310) and CCCs (1600/2986) .

The grand total of admitted patients is 2550 and number of beds available is 1764, which include 307 beds in hospitals and 1386 beds in CCCs.

According to official reports, the 774 new cases included 773 people (390 male & 383 female) from among the general population and one member of Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).

Their samples were tested at RIMS (30), JNIMS (116), District Hospitals (397) and other testing centres (231) .

The positive cases from among the general population are from Imphal East (230), Imphal West (217), Thoubal (83), Bishnupur (84), Kakching (38), Ukhrul (3), Churachandpur (46), Chandel (15), Senapati (7), Tamenglong (17), Tengnoupal (5), Pherzawl (5), Kamjong (3) and Kangpokpi (20) .

All necessary measures like containment and contact tracing are in place.

The State Level Covid-19 Deaths Audit Committee reported 16 Covid-19 deaths in the last 24 hours and the cumulative number of death has reached 1392.The district wise fatalities are Imphal West (5), Imphal East (1), Thoubal (1), Bishnupur (1), Kakching (1), Kangpokpi (2), Chandel (1) and Churachandpur (4).Other than the number and districts, both the IDSP and CCR bulletins do not provided any information such as age, gender and vaccine status among others.

In the last 24 hours, 741 patients were discharged from home isolation (324), RIMS (29), JNIMS (7), CCCs (144) and CHICs (237) .

But the official bulletins do not provide district specific information of the discharged cases.

The cumulative number of positive cases has reached 85,596 (general population - 81,658 and CAPF personnel - 3,938) .

Number of recovered cases is 74,511 (general population - 70,655 and CAPF personnel - 3,856) and number of active cases is 9,693 (general population - 9,616 and CAPF personnel - 77).The recovery rate is 87.04 per cent.

In the last 24 hours, 2004 D-type and 315 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health facilities.

District hospitals and government institutions have 404D and 96B filled cylinders and stock distributions made to different districts and centres are Bishnupur (75D,0B), Chandel (23D,5B), Churachandpur (65D,0B), Senapati (43D,0B), Thoubal (67D,32B), Ukhrul (27D,22B), Tamenglong (20D,0B), Jiribam (44D,12B), Moreh (17D,5B), Kamjong (3D,2B), Kangpokpi (3D,0B), Kakching (9D,14B), Pherzawl (6D,2B), Noney (2D,2B) and CCCs (342D,127D).Only 7,380 vaccine doses were administered on Sunday and the cumulative number of vaccinated individuals has reached 9,29,764 including 1,13,740 persons who have received both doses.

Meanwhile, 62 new positive cases were detected out of 463 samples tested in Kakching district from Sunday 2 pm to Monday 2 pm.

Six of the cases were detected at Jivan Hospital and the remaining 56 at different government RAT sites.

Three cases are from Chandel district and the remaining are residents of Kakching district.

According to DSO Kakching, the total number of infected person of the district has reached 4815 out of which 4003 have been discharged and 97 have died while the active caseload is 715 .

As per data maintained by The People's Chronicle based on IDSP and CCR reports, number of total cases in different districts are Imphal West (29,357), Imphal East (18,915), Thoubal (7207), Churachandpur (7127), Kangpokpi (2096), Tamenglong (2488), Bishnupur (5937), Senapati (1600), Ukhrul (1612), Kakching (4705), Chandel (1483), Noney (669), Tengnoupal (875), Jiribam (856), Kamjong (505) and Pherzawl (164) .

Fatality counts in different districts are Imphal West (482), Imphal East (342), Thoubal (125), Churachandpur (121), Kangpokpi (41), Tamenglong (11), Bishnupur (119), Senapati (6), Ukhrul (16), Kakching (85), Chandel (23), Noney (3), Tengnoupal (9), Jiribam (6), Kamjong (3) and Pherzawl (0).However, the figure does not match with data released by CMOs and DSOs of some districts.

Data analysed by this daily shows that the rate of infection remains 27,585 confirmed cases per million population (based on projected population of 31,03,000 as per NCP report) against the national average of 22,346 CPM.

Test rate has improved to 3,24,440 tests per million population against the national average of 3,19,491 TPM.

Case fatality rate rose to 1.63 per cent.

In the past 24 hours, 4339 samples were tested and the single day positivity rate was 17.84 per cent while the cumulative positivity rate rose to 8.50 per cent.
