Armed Forces Veterans' Day celebrated at Jiribam, Kangpokpi

Armed Veterans' Day was celebrated today at Jiribam DC Complex and Island village of Kangpokpi district with great fervor to honour the sacrifices of the armed forces for the nation.

The District Administration, Jiribam organised 9th Armed Forces Veterans' Day at the Conference Hall of DC Jiribam today.
The celebration was attended by various ex-servicemen of the district.
As part of the celebration, the ex-servicemen were honoured with special gifts and traditional shawl by Deputy Krishna Kumar, IAS.
Addressing the gathering, Deputy Commissioner, Jiribam Krishna Kumar, IAS lauded the roles of the ex-servicemen in building the nation and their dedication and sacrifices made for the nation.
Kangpokpi
The Indian Army commemorated the Armed Forces Veterans' Day with great fervor at the Island village of Kangpokpi today.
The event brought together veterans of the eight villages - Upper Island, Lower Island, Leishiphung, Rishiphung, Laikoching, Tumukhong, Nongdam Tangkhul, and Thangjinpokpi.
The celebration commenced with an inaugural address, paying tribute to the veterans for their dedicated service and sacrifices made for the nation.
A heartfelt interaction session followed, fostering a sense of gratitude and mutual respect.
To ensure the health and well-being of the attendees, a medical check-up was organized by an Army doctor.
A grievance redressal session was also held to address issues related to pensions, CSD, ECHS, and DIAV services.
Additionally, DIAV pamphlets were distributed to provide valuable information and support.
The program concluded with refreshments, promoting camaraderie and strengthening bonds between the veterans and organisers.
