Chandel, April 02 2024: A thirteen-day training programme on disaster response under the upscaling AAPDA MITRA Scheme was inaugurated today at the Science Seminar Hall of United College, Lambung, Chandel for community volunteers in the Chandel District.

This training is being organised by the Department of Relief & Disaster Management/State Disaster Management Authority, Government of Manipur in collaboration with the National Disaster Management Authority, said a statement by the Coordinator, Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college.

The inaugural programme was graced by Mayanglambam Rajkumar IAS, Deputy Commissioner Chandel, Dr BD Thumdal Anal (Principal, United College) and Promilata Monsang (SDC, Chandel) as the presidium members.

Speaking as the chief guest, Mayanglambam Rajkumar extended best wishes to the trainees and emphasised on the value of skill development among the students in particular.

Students from United College, Maha Union Higher Secondary School and South East Manipur College are taking part in the training programme.
