Chandel rallies against drug abuse among youth

In view of rapid rise of drug abuse among youth and lack of awareness about health hazard due to consumption of liquor and tobacco products, Anal Lenruwl Tangpi (Anal Naga Students' Union) organised a peace rally in Chandel district on Tuesday.
The rally started from Maha Union High School ground and culminated at Indoor stadium, Chandel after passing through Japhou bazar and DC junction.
Students and teachers of schools like Koinonia Training School, Oak Hill Christian Academy, Oriental Academy, St Joseph School, Thani Memorial Training School, Maha Union Higher Secondary School and AnalIon Christian Institute took part in the rally.
Leaders of CSOs based in Chandel like ANTA, ASR, ASR Maha area, ASR Lam-bung, ASR Chandel Christian, LYCC, church leaders, village chiefs, members of Wisecrabs and Kankhu Film Society also participated in the rally, during which several slogans against drugs, alcohol and tobacco products were raised.
Chandel police led by the OC of Chandel PS and his team provided security for the rally while shops and business establishments provided drinking water and snacks to refresh the participants.
