Finally, government revoked the suspension order of five principals and two lecturers of government higher secondary schools who have been placed under suspension in connection with alleged disobey of the government order to ensure participation in this year's Republic Day Celebration.
The teachers were found not guilty in the case registered with the Imphal police station, stated the orders issued by the deputy secretary (education) today revoking the suspension order by suppressing earlier orders of the same department.
"....And whereas, on examination her involvement in the charge has yet not been established nor any authority/police department forwarded her name to the government for prosecution in this regard".
"Now, therefore, the Governor of Manipur in exercise of powers conferred under Clause 5 of Rules 10 of CCS (CCA) Rules, 1965 is pleased to revoke the suspension order of Smt.
Padmabati Devi, principal, TG Higher Secondary School mention above with immediate effect in public interest," one of the orders stated.
The period which they have been placed under suspension will be treated as on duty for all purposes, separate orders revoking the suspension of the seven teachers further stated.
The five principals whose suspension orders revoked were Y Nonganlei of TG Higher Secondary School, S Khomdonbi of Johnston Higher Secondary School, Ch Padma Devi of CC Higher Secondary School, Y Ibetombi of Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School and L Rashi of Ram Lal Paul Hgiher Secondary School.
While, the two lecturers were Chingsubam Debendra, sciences graduate teacher and Thokchom Tomba, physical education teacher, both from Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School.
Mention may be made that in connection with decision taken by the principals and lecturers not to take part in the Republic Day celebration, police registered a case under FIR 28(1)09 of Imphal police station under section 124-A/341/506/120-B IPC and 12/39 (2) UA (P) A Act, 2004 against them with the charge of sedition, associate with terrorists organization and criminal conspiracy.
The case was taken up after the additional secretary education M Harekrishna submit a written report to the Imphal west SP yesterday at around 11.30 am.
The SP immediately referred the report to the OC, Imphal police station for registering a case and take up action as per the written report.
Police picked up them as they allegedly for failing to compliance with the order of the director which directed to take part a contingent each of the six schools, Ram Lal Paul Higher Secondary School, Ibotonsana Higher Secondary School, CC Higher Secondary School, Model Higher Secondary School, Johnstone Higher Secondary School and Tamphasana Higher Secondary School make up by 50 students attended rehearsal which was conducted at the parade ground of the 1st Manipur Rifles.
But, with a reported interference with threats from the members of the RPF of dare consequences if they happened to participate in the celebration of the day defying their banned on people's participation by the outfit, the teachers decided not to take part in the R-Day celebration by informing to the concern authorities.
Mention may be made that ahead of the announcement of boycott of the celebration Republic Day of India and general strike on the same day by the four banned separatists operating in the North Eastern region of the country, members of the RPF, a partner of the three separatist outfits in Manipur, Manipur People's Liberation Front, MPLF started its campaign to the people on the same matter.
