Kakching, July 19 2023: Rice under National Food Security Act (NFSA) was provided to the displaced people from Serou and Sugnu who are currently taking refuge at various relief centres across Kakching district.

Speaking in connection with the distribution programme, Kakching Deputy Commissioner Somorjit Salam said that the initiative has been taken up to ensure that the residents from Serou and Sugnu who have been displaced by the unfortunate communal strife get their due shares of rice under NFSA.

It may be noted that the displaced people are going through immense suffering due to the ongoing tense situation in the State.

And such an initiative from the Administration side will help in providing some relief to these affected people.

Therefore the rice distribution drive is being conducted at various relief centres in Kakching district.

On the inaugural day yesterday, rice was distributed to the inmates of Indoor Stadium Kakching relief camp managed by the Committee for Peace and Social Harmony, Head Office Kakching.
