Imphal, August 14 2025: In a sweeping tribute to India's 79th Independence Day, Assam Rifles orchestrated a vibrant series of Celebrations across Manipur, blending patriotic fervour, cultural pride, sportsmanship, environmental stewardship, and community outreach.

From August 10 to 15, the commemorations unfolded across Chandel, Kakching, Tengnoupal, and Imphal districts, drawing enthusiastic participation from over 1,200 individuals, including civilians, students, and troops.

In a stirring tribute to India's independence and the success of Operation Sindoor, Assam Rifles in collaboration with Indian Oil Corporation Limited, organised a high-octane Motorcycle Rally across the scenic Imphal Valley.

As per a release issued by HQ IGAR (South), the rally flagged off by Maj Gen Ravroop Singh, Inspector General of Assam Rifles, from the historic Marjing Polo Complex, featured over 100 riders from six prominent biker groups alongside Assam Rifles personnel.

The convoy traversed a 30-kilometre route through Mantripukhri, Kangla Fort, Kaishampat, Patsoi, and Khumbong, culminating at New Keithelmanbi Garrison.

As the rally snaked through Imphal East and West, it ignited a wave of patriotism and camaraderie, with spectators lining the streets and echoing chants of "Bharat Mata Ki Jai".

The festivities continued in Kakching district with a yoga session, cleanliness drive, and tree plantation programme at Kakching Garden.

Organised in collaboration with the Kakching District Yogasana Sports Association, the event was attended by volunteers, Assam Rifles personnel, and local dignitaries who praised its message of health, sustainability, and unity.

At ARPS Kakching, students expressed their patriotic spirit through musical tributes, a Tiranga Cycle Rally, and a "Run with Tiranga".

A vibrant array of creative competitions ranging from painting and poetry to elocution instilled a sense of discipline, expression, and patriotic pride among children across all age groups.

The school also hosted a cultural programme that celebrated India's rich heritage through music, dance, and drama.

Assam Rifles also organised flag rallies and a medical camp in Pangaltabi, Waikhong, Sugnu, and Serou, further strengthening bonds with the local community.

In Tengnoupal district, the force led a spirited Tiranga Yatra through Moreh town, where residents of all ages and backgrounds marched shoulder to shoulder, waving the national tricolor and chanting slogans that echoed India's democratic spirit.

The rally coursed through key areas of the town, transforming Moreh into a canvas of collective celebration and commitment.

A similar rally in Pallel drew an equally enthusiastic response, reinforcing the shared values of unity and patriotism.

From August 13 to 14, the Sehlon Battalion spearheaded Independence Day programmes in remote villages such as Kachinbung, Old Samtal, Kovang, New Samtal, Aibol Joupi, and Sehlon.

These events featured flag hoisting ceremonies, school children marches, cultural performances, patriotic film screenings, sports matches, and creative competitions on freedom themes.

Har Ghar Tiranga campaigns, wristband-making, selfie points, and plantation drives added colour and purpose to the celebrations.

Medical camps extended essential healthcare to underserved communities, while musical performances by Assam Rifles Bands and local groups elevated the festive spirit.

At Sajik Tampak, Assam Rifles commemorated the occasion with children from Shalluk orphanage through a "Day with the Company Commander", which included an interactive weapon display and a Flag March with students of Jomkholin Memorial School.

Similar engagements in Joupi and Changpol featured Tiranga rallies, friendly football and volleyball matches, and flag hoisting ceremonies, fostering camaraderie and national pride.

In Beheng, Assam Rifles organised a heartfelt flag march led entirely by local children, who proudly carried the national flag through the village streets.

In Singhat, the celebrations took on a creative and sporting dimension.

On August 13, a friendly volleyball match between Assam Rifles personnel and the local team drew enthusiastic support from villagers, promoting sportsmanship and mutual respect.

The following day, a vibrant drawing competition invited children from local schools to express their vision of freedom and progress through art.

On August 13, as part of the nation-wide Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, Assam Rifles conducted a series of flag marches and rallies across Manipur.

In Sadu Chiru village, primary school students and local residents filled the streets with patriotic chants.

At Komlakhong, students.

teachers, Meira Paibis, and locals marched in unison, reflecting the spirit of inclusivity.

Sangaithel village witnessed a vibrant procession led by students and teachers from Vocational Guide School, while in Thoubal, a Tiranga Rally from the DC Gate to Arong Bridge drew hundreds of civilians and troops.

At Mantripukhri, the day began with a Tiranga Cycle Rally and concluded with a spirited march involving families and children.

In Lilong, a Tiranga Bike Rally showcased unity and unwavering dedication to the nation.

Across all locations, the celebrations reflected Assam Rifles' unwavering ethos as the Sentinels of the North East- safeguarding the region's security while standing in solidarity with its people in the pursuit of peace, progress, and national pride.
