ADAM fetes AMWJU on environment drive

Imphal, June 06 2010: The Alliance for Development Alternative-Manipur, Kakching, (ADAM) as in the past three years has chosen the All Manipur Working Journalists' Union for active role taken by the media in spreading awareness programme on enviroment amongst the public.

Towards this end a function was held at Angaan Ching Eco-Park today at 11 am, where the role of the media in spreading awareness on the environment was discussed and lauded.

The award given to AMWJU was handed over to the president of the Union, Khogendra Khomdram during the function by the Deputy Chairman of the Planning Board, MLA Bijoy Koijam., who attended the function as the chief guest.

Additional Chief Forest Conservator Bala Prasad attended as the guest of honour, while local MLA Y Surchandr presided over the meeting.

The award consists of Rs 10,000, a citation and a memento.

Cash awards and citiations were also given to the top three position holders in the on the spot painting competition held yesterday, while consolation prizes were also given to the other participants to encourage them.
