Health camps organised at various places

The Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, Rotary International District 3240 Zone 12, organised a health camp at the relief camp opened in Kamakhya Pemton College, Hiyangthang today.
The health camp conducted on the theme, "Dental Smile" was attended by Wangkhei AC MLA, Thangjam Arunkumar, Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal, president, Elangbam Sovid; secretary Preshojit and other members of Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal along with doctors, nurses and staff of JNIMS Dental College.
Speaking on the occasion, Thangjam Arunkumar highlighted the humanitarian activities carried out by the Rotarian of Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal for the weaker sections of the society.
He asserted that the Club has been organising health camps and awareness programmes to make the people aware about the importance of environment, education & health.
Elangbam Sovid said that free health examinations and consultations were provided to about 300 conflict survivors who are staying in the camp today.
He shared that the health camp was organised with the assistance of nurses, doctors of JNIMS Dental College and volunteers of Kamakhya Pemton College.
Further, Elangbam Sovid assured that the Rotary Club of Polo City Imphal under the aegis of Rotary International District 3240 Zone 12 will be organising similar health camps at colleges and relief camps opened across the State.
SAHS
As part of the curriculum of MBBS under the guidelines of National Medical Commission, the Shija Academy of Health Sciences (SAHS), Langol, Imphal is extending the coverage of a number of families under Family Adoption Programme.
In this connection, SAHS organised a Mega Health Camp at Awang Potsangbam Khullen in collaboration with the Social Development Association on Sunday.
The mega health camp was inaugurated by Dr M Amuba Singh, director, SAHS.
The Department of Community Medicine with its dedicated team of faculties & staff led the camp supported by other faculties & specialists from various departments.
A total of 150 students from the second batch (2022-2023) of SAHS actively participated in the camp, which saw a turnout of 400 people seeking medical check-ups and consultations.
The camp aimed to provide essential healthcare services to the community, emphasizing the importance of health awareness and early diagnosis.
The event included not only medical consultations but also health-related talks, with specialists attending to patients across various disciplines, including General Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedics, Paediatrics, ENT, Eye, Psychiatry, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, and Dentistry.
Medicines were also distributed to the patients during the camp.
RIMS
As part of the series of activities organised under the "ISPPD NANHI-MUSKAN project" and Swachhta Action Plan 2024-2025, the Department of Pediatric & Preventive Dentistry and Public Health Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS, Imphal, organised a dental and medical camp at Thangalawai Kangsoibi Fisherman Colony, Bishnupur district today.
Altogether, 152 children were examined for various healthcare concerns by a team of Dental doctors, Medicine specialist, ENT specialist, Ophthalmologist, refractionists, Paediatrician and auxiliary staff.
The medical team also provided various dental treatments including extractions, restorations and oral prophylaxis along with free medicines.
Stationery and educational items were also distributed to the children.
Dr Ratna Yumkham, Assistant Professor, Department of Paediatric & Preventive Dentistry, Dental College, RIMS also attended the camp.
