Longa Koireng Village Authority refutes

The Longa Koireng Village Authority (LKVA) has refuted the Manipur Police report claiming that a joint team of Patsoi police, Sangaithel police out-post and 5/9 GR Sangaithel conducted a combing operation at Longa Koireng village and surrounding areas on September 20 around 1:45 pm.
A statement issued by SR Choungam Koireng, chairman and W Khelsong Koireng, secretary, Longa Koireng Village Authority has clarified that the Village Authority has not received any news of such a combing operation taking place in the village.
Saying that Longa Koireng is an ancient village under New Keithelmanbi police station in Kangpokpi district inhabited by the Koireng tribe, it added that the village is not involved in the conflict and has remained peaceful throughout.
In view of the current volatile situation, the Village Authority has stated that the Manipur Police report that has been carried in some electronic and print media can cause confusion among the people.
