DSCE wins Smart India Hackathon 2023

Dayananda Sagar College of Engineering (DSCE) has won the Smart India Hackathon 2023, a nationwide initiative by the Ministry of Education's Innovation Cell.
There were 437 submissions for the problem statement, out of which, DSCE were among the top 6 teams who got shortlisted for the Grand Finale, and finally won, said a release.
About the hackathon
Initially, all the problem statements were published on the Smart India Hackathon's website which were divided into two segments, Software and Hardware.
The DCSE team went through every ministry's problem statements in the software track before finalizing the PS 1286 .
They worked upon the specified problem statement and built their solution upon that for the internal hackathon at college level.
The team was shortlisted for the national finals of the Smart India Hackathon (nodal center Kolkata) .
The finals involved 3 mentoring rounds and 3 judging rounds, with each mentoring round followed by a judging round.
The solution of the DSCE team consisted of a mobile application to provide onboarding for clients, legal service providers and non profit organizations.
The clients could feed their case details upon which the optimum legal service providers for him would be recommended.
The team had three types of legal service providers- lawyers, document writers and notaries.
The user can select the legal service provider and book his appointment on the app.
The team also had LawGPT- an AI chatbot which was trained on Indian law to answer any user queries.
The team made the application multilingual to increase its accessibility and introduced reviews & ratings to ensure transparency between the ends.
The data taken from the user was also secured by ensuring end to end encryption.
