Humanitarian aid extended, health camp conducted

Former students of Dhanamanjuri College of Science continue to extend humanitarian aid to the displaced people who are staying at various relief camps across the State in a bid to provide some relief and alleviate their problems caused by the prevailing tense situation.
Yesterday, Alumni DM College of Science (XII 1996-TDC 1999 Batch) organised a "Free Eye Check-up and Blood Testing Camp" at Kumbi Terakha Upper Primary School.
Apart from providing free eye check-up and blood group test to the IDP staying at the relief camp set up in the school, MSME Technology Centre Imphal, Deputy Director, Dr Sinam Yoirentomba Meitei also conducted a skill development awareness programme to help empower the IDP.

During the health camp, one person was diagnosed with a ruptured eardrum while two persons were found suffering from pterygium and cataract.
Surgeries/ operations for the three individuals will be carried out soon with the assistance of the Alumni DM College of Science.
The Alumni DM College of Science has also expressed its appreciation to Johnstone Higher Secondary School former principal Khundrakpam Tulchandra Singh and Yaima Eye Hospital Imphal for providing monetary aid to the Alumni.
Moreover, Churachandpur Meitei Ethnic Clash Victim Committee (CMECVC) and Association of Voluntary Blood Donors (AVBD), Manipur today jointly organised an awareness cum voluntary blood donation camp at RIMS Blood Bank under the theme, "Laan-chelakpasingna eramdam sigidamak ee-kathokchaba" .
The camp was conducted in collaboration with the Department of Transfusion Medicine, RIMS, Imphal.
About 50 persons donated their blood during the camp.
At the event, CMECVC general secretary Naba Ningthoujam conveyed his gratitude to Bishnupur District DC Lourembam Bikram and ADM Hanjabam Bobby Sharma for their assistance in making the camp a success.
Meanwhile, in continuation of its relief efforts, the Ramakrishna Mission, Babupara, Imphal, on Saturday provided 350 Kg of potato sprouts, 120 Kg of green pea seeds, 35 Kg of rajma seeds & 20 Kg of dhaniya seeds, as a collective livelihood support for the economically distressed farmers at Sugnu, Kakching district, which has been one of the worst affected areas during the ongoing crisis.
The Ramakrishna Mission distributed 1105 thermal vests, 422 thermal trousers, 661 pairs of winter socks, 170 shawls, 95 blankets, 16 pairs of footwears, along with food ration and other miscellaneous items, at 19 relief camps & 4 other areas in Bishnupur, Kakching, Imphal East & Imphal West districts in the month of January The humanitarian initiative benefited 3124 individuals from 1181 affected families .
Since May, 2023, the Ramakrishna Mission has been relentlessly making efforts to serve the affected people and reiterates deepest sympathies for those afflicted by the ongoing crisis & offer sincere prayers to the Almighty God for their well being.
Besides, the Universal Friendship Organisation (UFO), Central Committee has extended its heartfelt gratitude to the youths of Andro Nungyanbi for providing essential items including rice, dal, potato, etc to Nongpok Pana Tengol Lakpa Loishang of UFO on Sunday.
