Imphal, January 29 2024:
Recalling the memorandums submitted to minister and director concerned demanding punitive action against some corrupt staffers in the accounts section of ZEO Zone-I office, Socialist Students' Union of Manipur (SSUM) has submitted yet another memorandum to the chief minister urging for initiation of appropriate actions as the minister and the director concerned have failed to live up to the expectation.
In a release, SSUM Publicity and Information secretary Salam Inaoyaima Singh noted that people are yearning for a corruption free society and move towards the path of development.
The government is formed by those elected by people who hope that the establishment would work for the betterment of the society.
Amidst initiatives and campaign by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to make India a corruption free nation, cases of corruption are occurring in the state, he said.
The secretary also expressed that in case the minister concerned cannot take action, then he/she should elaborate the reasons thereof, while expressing hope that appropriate actions will be initiated against the corrupt staff members in the accounts section of the ZEO office.
He further stated that another memorandum will be submitted to the Prime Minister if the CM ignores their humble suggestion.
