Manipur Jagoi Marup, YMC celebrate Foundation Day

The 61st Foundation Day of Manipuri Jagoi Marup was celebrated today at its Golden Jubilee Auditorium in Lamboi Khongnangkhong.
It was attended by JN Manipur Dance Academy, Director, P Bilash Singh and Manipuri Jagoi Marup, ex-president, Ng Amumacha Singh as presidium members.
During the event, floral tributes were offered to the deceased founder members of Manipuri Jagoi Marup.
The "Guru Thingbaijam Babu Ningshing Mana" was awarded to Thiyam Suryamukhi Devi in recognition of her contribution in the field of Manipuri dance.
The award carries a shawl, citation and cash prize.
Pukhrambam Reepa Devi, winner of Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar Award 2022-23, was also felicitated during the event.
The programme culminated with dance performances by artists of Manipuri Jagoi Marup.
Meanwhile, the 4th Foundation Day of Young Minds Collective (YMC) was celebrated today at Hasan Coaching Institute, Heibong Makhong, Mayang Imphal, with the theme "Role of Youth in Social Change".
The event brought together executives, advisors, volunteers, and well-wishers of YMC, who shared valuable suggestions and feedback to progress the platform, said a release issued by YMC.
The event highlighted the disconnect between youth's energy and potential and their ability to drive meaningful social change.
Speakers emphasized the need for engagement, discussion, and decision-making opportunities for youth to participate in social change.
They also discussed the challenges of financial scarcity, lack of valuable education, and upskilling, which hinder youth's ability to bring change.
Additionally, the hyper influence of pursuing only doctor and engineering careers, driven by materialistic development and societal pressure, was discussed.
The programme aimed to bridge the gap between youths and their potential, developing a sense of activism, social responsibility, and collectiveness towards a better future.
YMC has been conducting discussion sessions on various academic and issue-based topics and has taken initiatives to develop and promote quality education and empower youth in the community.
The organization also strives to empower and promote women's participation in education and social domains.
