Poumai Baptist Church Senapati distributes relief materials to flood victims

In response to the severe hardship caused by recent torrential rains and subsequent flood in Senapati District, the Poumai Baptist Church Senapati (PBCS) mobilized swiftly to provide immediate relief to affected families.
Recognizing the widespread damage to homes, livelihoods, and essential supplies, the church felt compelled by Christian love and duty to act such yeoman services at this critical juncture.
A team of volunteers with the 2 Pastors and deacons from the Poumai Baptist Church successfully distributed essential relief materials to numerous families impacted by the floods irrespective of tribes and different communities.
The distribution drive specifically aimed to reach those in urgent need within Senapati area.
Relief was provided without distinction between church members and nonmembers.
The sole criterion was stated to be the need arising from flood damages in the district.
Speaking in this connection, Rev Havei William, Associate Pastor, PBCS stated that this initiative was a tangible expression of the love of Christ and the biblical mandate to love one's neighbor as oneself, basing on Mark 12:31 and care for those suffering (Matthew 25:35-40).The church demonstrated its commitment to being a supportive family within the broader Senapati community, standing in solidarity during such crisis.

The church continues to hold the affected communities in prayer.
Around 500 affected families received immediate relief consisting of 10 kg rice, 1 kg salt and 1 kg potato where the salt and potatoes were generously donated by the Young Tribal Women's Network.
The distribution was taken at different colonies within Makhrelui, Senapati including Viewland colony, Yaopao colony, River colony and Bridge colony where flood mostly affected the low lying areas within the
district headquarters.
