Longmai CSOs demand authorities to solve robbery case within 10 days

Noney, October 19 2024:
Seven Longmai CSOs including Villages Council Longmai Area, (VCLA), Longmai Youth League, (LYL), Longmai Students Union, NWU Longmai Area, Longmai Bazar Board and VA Longmai have collectively appealed the concerned officials of the Government and public representative to settle the case of KP Naman within the next ten days.
KP Naman from Longmai Bazar in Noney was robbed by armed miscreants claiming to be members of Arambai Tenggol on April 13, 2024 .
The armed miscreants confiscated KP Naman's white Toyota Fortuner, Rs 13 lakh in cash, another Rs 3,500 from his wallet and one mobile phone (One Plus 10 Pro) along the NH 37 at Naoremthong Road Tera Bazar around 4:30 pm on the fateful day.
As per a joint statement issued by the representatives of the aforementioned seven organisations, the CSOs held a joint meeting and resolved to appeal to all parties concerned to desist from atrocities such as harassment, frisking, unwarranted detention, investigation, confiscating vehicles and other disturbances made towards the commuters along the route, passing through Meetei and Kuki dominated areas.
Referring to the robbery incident, the joint statement said that despite appeals made to the concerned MLA of Nungba AC, Noney SP and Imphal SP on October 4 to solve the case and widespread circulation of the CCTV footage of the incident, they did not receive any satisfactory response until the last minute of the October 19, as per the ultimatum of 15 days served to the authority Prior to this ultimatum, numerous written appeals were submitted to many concerned officials, FIR lodged to the concerned police station, issued several press release and organised many press conferences but the case seems to be heading nowhere, lamented the joint statement.
Therefore, the CSOs made the appeal on October 4.As the matter continues to remain unresolved, the CSOs conducted a meeting and minutely deliberated over other similar cases, such as the looting of one Kabiduan Phaomei from Longmai, Noney where Rs 75,000 was robbed from the man.
Urging all parties concerned to desist from perpetrating such unfortunate acts, the joint statement has appealed the relevant officials to resolve KP Naman's case within 10 days, failing which, intense democratic agitations will be initiated.
