Kakching, July 19 2023: The last rites of two village volunteers, Irengbam Chingkheinganba and Sagolshem Ngaleiba were held at Sekmaijin Khunou Playground today.

Both from Sekmaijin Khunou are believed to have been killed by Kuki militants at Leikinthabi, under Sekmai police station, where they went to guard Meitei settlements.

While their bodies have not been found yet, the last rites were held with a large number of people paying tributes at the Sekmaijin Khunou playground today.

It may be noted that the news of their alleged deaths broke out after a video surfaced on social media.

On the sideline of the last rites, JAC convenor Th Kiran condemned the silence of the Prime Minister and failure of the Centre and the State Government to contain violence and restore peace.
