Liangmai students

The 8th general conference of Liangmai Naga Katimai Ruangdi (All Liangmai Naga Students' Union) of Manipur, Nagaland and Assam, which will continue till January 23, was inaugurated by Tamei AC MLA Z Kikhonbou Newmai at Ntu village in Paren district of Nagaland yesterday.
Presentation of cultural items by various troupes from the three States was the main highlight of the conference attended by around 5000 people.
Speaking at the inaugural function, Kikhonbou Newmai said that Manipur Government had recognised Liangmai tribe in 2011 and approved its language as a Major Indian Language (MIL) in 2013 .
He exhorted the students to work hard so that they may serve their community, society, State and the country.
Saying that students are the pillars of society, he said that they must not waste time to avoid future regrets.
Stating that many youth study just for namesake, the MLA said that parents send their children to schools/colleges not to burden them but to shape their future career.
