Imphal, October 25 2023: In a far reaching revelation, Alex Ningombam, one of the accused in the Sega Road Khwairakpam Leikai firing has disclosed that he was accompanied by the escort of Manoharmayum Barish while trying to abduct one Bobo Khaidem from his residence on October 14 .

Alex also disclosed that he took a pistol from the vehicle of Barish Sharma, former BJYM Manipur Pradesh president before heading inside Bobo's house.

Notably, Barish was arrested on October 21 in connection with the case and he has been remanded to police custody till October 27 while the firing incident took place on October 14 .

Meanwhile, the Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Imphal West on Wednesday rejected the bail application filed by the five other accused of the case viz Alex Ningombam @ Gulu (26), s/o Ajit and Gurumayum Rayban (24), s/o Robindro both from Brahmapur Laljilakpa Leikai, Nongthombam Tony Meitei (36), s/o (L) Kumar of Langthabal Lep Mayai Leikai presently staying at Nungoi Makha Leikai, Ningthoujam Vicky (30), s/o N Bhorot of Kongba Nandeibam Leikai and Khaidem Nibas (33), s/o Lukhoi of Singjamei Wangma Pebiya Pandit Leikai.

Nongthombam Tony Meitei is the vice president of BJYM Manipur Pradesh.

All five of them have been remanded to judicial custody till November 8 .

s per the IO of the case, Alex talked with Barish about the 'threatening' Facebook post uploaded against the latter by Bobo Khaidem before the incident.

Saying that Alex requested Barish, Tony and Vicky to come to Sega Road Konjeng Hajari Leikai 'to teach a lesson' to Bobo for the Facebook post, the IO continued that Alex went to Sega Road with his neighbour Rayban first.

The IO went on to state that Alex met Barish at Sega Road and took a pistol from the vehicle (Mahindra Scorpio) of the latter before heading inside the residence of Bobo Khaidem.

Alex was accompanied by the escort of Barish, Vicky, Nibas and Rayban while heading inside the residence of Bobo, as per the IO .

Continuing that Alex and his team tried to abduct Bobo from his house using brute force, the IO said that the abduction bid failed after the locals of Sega Road intervened.

The accused asked Bobo to apologise after the intervention of the locals but he denied and headed inside his house, added the IO .

Alex and other accused retreated following a heated argument between them and the locals of Sega Road, the IO narrated adding that the pistol from Alex fell while he was fleeing from the area.

The pistol was picked by Rayban and they fled from the area in the vehicle of Barish, said the IO.

The accused however didn't say anything about firing other than stating that they heard some rounds of firing while fleeing from the area, as per the IO .

The IO further submitted that they have seized the pistol, one Hyundai Elantra used by accused Tony, Alto Car used by accused Vicky and Nibas.

Saying that the crime committed by the accused is very serious, the IO said that five civilians also sustained bullet wounds in the incident.

The Court after hearing the submission of the IO and defense counsel and on perusal of the material on record observed that the case is in the initial stage of investigation and the charges against the accused persons are very serious.

The Court also said that there is a high possibility of tampering evidence if the accused are granted bail and remanded all the five accused to judicial custody till November 8 .
