Plant health camps conducted to raise awareness on pests control measures

A "Plant Health Camp" (Identifying pests and their control measures) was held yesterday at TT Indoor Stadium , Thoubal Wangmataba.
The plant health camp was organised by Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North Eastern Region (MOVCDNER), Department of Agriculture, Manipur in association with Wangmataba Youth Club (WYC) Thoubal Wangmataba.
MOVCDNER Project Officer Kh Nimaichand; Agriculture Department Deputy Director Th Joyprakash; National Food Security Mission (NFSM) Nodal Officer W Subhas; former Agricultural Officer L Sanatomba and WYC Vice-president Dr Ak Brojen graced as the presidium members of the programme.

During the camp, the resource persons and experts examine the samples of plants affected by the pests brought by the farmers and sensitized the farmers about its control measures.
Pesticides and sprayers were provided to the farmers at subsidized rates.
It may be noted that a plant health camp was also conducted at Ingourok Community Hall under Heirok AC on August 26 last jointly organised by MOVCDNER, Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) Thoubal and Thouna Farmer Producer Co.

The camp was attended by MOVCDNER Project Officer Kh Nimaichand; KVK Thoubal SMS Agronomy, N Tomba; Thouna Farmer Producer Co.
Ltd Chairman Keisham Tolpishak and resource persons.
Speaking in connection with the plant health camp, Kh Nimaichand said that the camp has been organised to increase the productivity rate.
Stating that the Department is aiming to conduct more than 40 plants health camps in the coming days, he appealed to all farmer association companies in the State to consult with the Agriculture Department and avail the benefits of these camps for enhanced productivity.
It is worth noting that MOVCDNER will be organising similar plant health camps across the State till September 7 to raise awareness among the farmers regarding pests and the relevant control measures.
