Imphal, April 17 2016:
The All Manipur Students' Union (AMSU) today paid homage to late Loken and Premananda at Pisum Chinga Ching to mark its 36th Realisation Day.
The gathering then rallied from Pisum Chinga Ching to Manipur College, Singjamei where a programme was held at the college multipurpose hall.
The function was graced by L Dilip, former president, AMSU, Sanasam Subhaschandra Singh, president, AMSU, N Mohilal Meitei, former president, AMSU and Kh Ratan, convenor, JCILPS as presidium members.
Addressing the gathering, Kh Ratan said that Premananda and Loken laid down their lives during the Anti-Foreigner Movement in 1980 .

The movement which witnessed a united voice of the youth of Manipur particularly AMSU was launched against a threat to the indigenous people of the State by the migrants.
Following the series of agitation launched by JCILPS last year for implementation of Inner Liner Permit System in the State, a 7-point agreement was passed by the State Government on August 25, 2015.However, the pact would be of no use if it is not implemented, Kh Ratan said.
"At present, there are more than 10 lakh migrants in the State.
Surprisingly, the State Government has remained mute till now when such an alarming number of migrants are soaking up the resources of our land.
If the State Government cannot do anything about it then we must do something about it.
Let us not only pay floral tributes to Premananda and Loken on this day but unite and work towards the goals envisioned by them," Kh Ratan stated.
He added, "Indigenous people of Tripura are also under the threat of migrants.
Migrants have outnumbered the indigenous people.
The threat has reached such an extent that they have become helpless.
Similar scenario will soon befall us if no concrete step is taken up at the earliest" .
AMSU president Sanasam Subhaschandra said that the Central Government has always viewed Manipur as inferior to all the other States of the country.
"We have been fighting for our rights in our land.
Let us come together and fight to victory.
AMSU will support JCILPS in all the course of agitation for implementation of ILP in the State," Subhaschandra said.
As part of the 36th Realisation Day programme, a blood donation camp was also conducted by a medical team of RIMS.
